Consciousness

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia
Consciousness is variously defined as subjective experience, awareness, the ability to experience "feeling", wakefulness, the understanding of the concept "self", or the executive control system of the mind. It is an umbrella term that may refer to a variety of mental phenomena. Although humans realize what everyday experiences are, consciousness refuses to be defined, philosophers note (e.g. John Searlein The Oxford Companion to Philosophy):
Consciousness in medicine (e.g., anesthesiology) is assessed by observing a patient's alertness and responsiveness, and can be seen as a continuum of states ranging from alert, oriented to time and place, and communicative, through disorientation, then delirium, then loss of any meaningful communication, and ending with loss of movement in response to painful stimulation.
Consciousness in psychology and philosophy typically means something beyond what it means for anesthesiology, and may be said in many contexts to imply four characteristics: subjectivity, change, continuity, and selectivity. Philosopher Franz Brentano has suggested intentionality or aboutness (that consciousness is about something). However, within the philosophy of mind there is no consensus on whether intentionality is a requirement for consciousness.
Consciousness is the subject of much research in philosophy of mind, psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, cognitive neuroscience and artificial intelligence. Issues of practical concern include how the presence of consciousness can be assessed in severely ill or comatose people; whether non-human consciousness exists and if so how it can be measured; at what point in fetal development consciousness begins; and whether computers can achieve a conscious state.

Being in communion

What if being is the way forward?

All of us try to create and uncreate what is right for us each day, hour, minute and even every second. This is our normal process as energy beings. The connection is given to us on entering this life. Some of us take this natural tool and hide it away or exercise it now and then when times get too challenging.
As energy beings why do we block out this communion with the oneness and try to live with only 6 scenes.
Are we not all masters of our Owen lives?
What is Being, being for me is this space and life of communion with the oneness. It is a choice to stay connected to the BEING. This choice can feed or malnourish the mind, body and soul.
Life can be filled with choices it is up to us!

“What could make the communion with being, perceiving, receiving and knowing be
more joyful more easy
and more glory-full
for me
today?” Brenton Grosser-Czech

Q-Mars Interesting point of view?

Q-Mars Imandel

"awesome question somebody asked... ♥"

Question: Q-Mars do you think that the Law of Attraction is appealing because our ego thinks it has another tool to control its universe? in that case should we invest in ideas like the law of attraction?

Answer:
Great question... It's not really the "Law of Attraction" that is appealing... What IS appealing is the TRUTH that the Universe is listening and will deliver to you whatever you ask for, as long as you're in a position of willi...ngness to receive it. It is also true that you will attract to yourself that which resonates with your level of consciousness and beingness. ♥

I think what you are referring to is the mind, not really the ego.

The mind doesn't really try to control the universe; it just tries to quantify, theorize, calculate, solidify, etc. The mind is not some evil entity that is out to get you. It's just the part of your being that thinks, and counts, and calculates... none of which are bad or wrong. Actually, the mind comes in very handy when you need to complete a task at hand. But when the task is complete, it's time to put the mind aside, which takes practice.

The ego, on the other hand, does try to control, manipulate, and dominate the Universe. But the ego is again not some outside evil entity. The ego is essentially the unconscious part of your self. The ego is what the being unconsciously chooses to identify himself/herself as, but it's not real. ♥

For example, if I love the Dodgers, and I consider myself a "huge Dodger fan", what will happen if somebody says to me: "The Dodgers Suck!"? The ego, or the unconscious part of me the being, would get angry and offended. But wait, we didn't say anything bad about the me, we said something bad about the Dodgers. Why did I get mad? Oh yea, because I am identified as being "a Dodger fan". Make sense?

So enlightenment is when the ego drops and all identification with anything, including who you think you are and were, drops away. Then you just get to be who you truly are on a moment to moment basis, and since you're not identified with anything, you have complete open channels to receive any and all information and awareness. You don't block anything out because you're against one thing and for another. You simply just ARE. ♥

About investing in things like the law of attraction... You should invest in YOU, not things. If the Law of Attraction feels good to you now, then by all means do it. Maybe in the future it wont because you will move to a new level of understanding about what it really means. Then you might look back and wonder how you ever didn't know what you know now, and how you managed to function without it. :)

At that point there will be something else that you will attract to yourself that resonates more with your new higher level of consciousness. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. It's quite magical actually!

So the law of attraction is true, in more ways that one. Anything you ask for, the Universe will deliver. Anything. ♥

An interesting point of view by Q-Mars Imandel

“Most of the people who preach about 'unconditional love' and 'compassion' only practice it until you piss them off. Then, their love is conditional and their compassion fades away.” ~Q :) ♥
